Ahmed Soliman & Nesrine Shaker have been friends since they met at Citibank early in their banking careers. One day they were craving gelato or ice cream, but realized that there were no good gelaterias in Cairo.
Being the gourmet foodies that they are, they thought: “why don’t we do it ourselves.” They went to Italy to study artisanal gelato making and founded Stavolta in 2011 with one objective in mind:
“to make the freshest, top quality gelato without any artificial colorings or preservatives.”
